As a BCGer for 20 years, and a partner since 2009, Office administrator of the Paris office since 2013, I have continued learning, taking up challenges, and progressing every day of my career.
Since 2013, I have had the opportunity to lead the Paris office, one of The Boston Consulting Group’s largest and most influential offices. Our regular two-digit growth is the result of a constant desire to innovate in our organization and methods, particularly in a world where our clients face unprecedented challenges associated with the digital revolution and globalization.
As an example, in Paris we host practice areas dedicated to key functions such as pricing and industrial production management, which serve as labs in which we test new solutions that will turn into sources of efficiency and performance for our clients.
Among those clients, we enjoy long-lasting relationships with the leading companies of the CAC 60. We work on most of the issues, industries, and functions that are handled by BCG around the world, and we aim to transfer our experience and support the creation of offices in Europe and Northern Africa. Today, we are steering those of Tel Aviv and Casablanca.
To meet our ambitions and standards of quality, we mobilize all the human and academic resources necessary for talent development. We recruit people from industry, doctoral students, and topic experts, and we also develop partnerships with leading business and engineering schools on major digital challenges. We truly believe in co-construction approaches and the richness of diversity.
François is a senior partner and managing director based in BCG’s Paris office. He leads the Paris, Casablanca, and Tel Aviv Offices.
Over the last 20 years, François has advised global MNCs and retailers on a wide range of topics, including growth strategy, marketing and sales effectiveness, pricing and operational efficiency, globalization, postmerger integration, organization, and digital marketing and sales.
A graduate of HEC, François joined the Paris office in 1997 after working in marketing management with Procter & Gamble.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being in touch with incredible personalities, with teams of creative consultants who are able to provide brand-new ideas on complex issues, with world-class experts from all over the world, and learning from them. I am always impressed by our ability to constitute, for each assignment, a new team whose members have a single and same common objective: providing durable change and innovative perspectives to our clients.
Q: What characteristics do you believe define a BCGer?
A: A BCGer is able to combine advanced expertise, specific know-how, and a holistic approach. He or she is tremendously curious, open-minded, and diligent and has great listening skills. These very qualities that we share always urge us to progress and give the best of ourselves.
Q: If you could compare what you do to any other job, what would you say?
A: Working at BCG has no equivalent. As a partner within an international partnership, I am an entrepreneur and a stakeholder in strategic decisions made to shape the future of our company—and I am also responsible for my business, clients, and teams. As a BCGer, I am a researcher who explores new concepts and growth models for each assignment.
