At BCG, Innovators view the world from unexpected angles. They bring creativity and a fresh perspective to every challenge they face. George connects the dots to see the bigger picture.
I feel set up for success at BCG through the collaborative and highly supportive team environment.
While my previous work experience was exclusively in the financial-services industry, it was important to me to gain perspective on other sectors as well. BCG has provided me the opportunity to apply analytical problem-solving skills to industries and companies outside my comfort zone. The work has been extremely interesting and has forced me to bring the best out of myself on a daily basis.
What has struck me most has been the observable tangible impact that I can make at BCG. It is highly rewarding being able to read articles in top news publications around the globe regarding the results of work I have done on a project. But it's most important to remember that our strong and collaborative team dynamic is what drives our impact and sets BCG apart.
George holds an economics degree from Columbia University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He worked in the financial-services industry for six years prior to business school.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: One of the best things about my job is seeing the amount of trust and responsibility that is put into the hands even of less-senior staff. It is an important hallmark of the firm that BCGers at all levels speak up and deliver real impact from day one. It drives me to always be prepared and perform at a high level.
Q: What international experiences at BCG have been the most interesting for you?
A: My most interesting international experience at BCG has been a retail project in Milan. It was extremely exciting being able to work toward a unified goal with people of diverse backgrounds. Furthermore, as part of the project, I was even able to travel to other parts of Europe.
Q: What does innovation mean to you?
A: Innovation to me simply means challenging the existing way of doing things. At BCG, you are expected to bring forward challenges (in a constructive way). In my role, I am able to look at a unique business problem and build on existing BCG approaches by challenging it with my own perspective to create a unique solution that is inherently innovative.
