At BCG, Challengers go against expected thinking and inspire their teams to be truly innovative. Helena goes deep to understand challenges.
The best part of working at BCG is that every day is different. From the first moment, you are confronted with the most stimulating challenges, which help you grow both professionally and personally.
I am a chemical engineer, and I joined BCG with three years of experience in the consumer goods sector. At BCG, I have learned about and been empowered to create impact in the consumer and health care sectors. The firm has provided me with the unique opportunity to team up with our clients in these industries, solve their challenges, and shape their future.
What I like the most about BCG is the great team atmosphere. People at BCG form a vast network and closely collaborate to make sure that we bring the highest value to the client. No matter how specific or unusual a challenge might be, it's clear that someone at BCG will have the answer. This creates an inspiring and motivating working environment of which I feel proud to be a part.
Helena holds an MSc in chemical engineering from IQS. She developed her master's thesis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Q: How has BCG helped you grow and succeed?
A: BCG has helped me grow by providing outstanding role models from whom I have been able to learn to become a better-rounded professional. Also, from the first moment, BCG gave me great exposure with senior members at client companies, thus allowing me to better understand the challenges they face and seek the most suitable solutions for them.
Q: What international experiences at BCG have been the most interesting for you?
A: At BCG I have had the luck to have many international experiences, one of the most interesting of which was a project in Colombia. There, I was part of a diverse team with people from Mexico, Panamá, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and Spain. We worked together for three months, side by side, to drive impact for the client in his operations throughout Latin America.
Q: What's your home office environment like?
A: I'd define the Barcelona office environment as a family. We are a group of diverse people with different backgrounds but with many interests in common. As many of us work in the client premises during the week, we make a big effort to stay connected. We organize after-work activities, sports events, and parties. We even have a WhatsApp group with all the office members so that nobody misses what's going on!
