At BCG, Innovators view the world from unexpected angles. They bring creativity and a fresh perspective to every challenge they face. Inmoo connects the dots to see the bigger picture.
BCG has supported my growth by providing continuous challenges. We stretch one another beyond the comfort zone—and the best part is we always have someone to ask for insight.
Prior to joining BCG, I worked at an IT company. BCG has exposed me to various other industries and functions, including new technological trends in automotive, chemical value chains, and operational turnaround strategies for industrial goods companies. I have learned a lot from those experiences, and my understanding of economics and business have grown tremendously.
My personal development also comes from learning through my colleagues' experience and expertise. BCG's culture encourages sharing knowledge, supporting each other at every step of the way. I knew I wanted to engage with diverse, motivated, and talented people as a way to accelerate my own learning.
Inmoo holds an industrial engineering and economics degree from Seoul National University and has a master's in industrial engineering from Seoul National University.
Q: What did you learn in your first year on the job?
A: From my previous jobs, I already had strong analytical skills and knew how to turn analysis into good slides. But great analysis and beautiful slides do not always make change and create impact for the client. At BCG, I learned a lot about what drives people and organizational behaviors as well as the strategic plans required to change those.
Q: Why did you choose to work at BCG?
A: I believe two things made it an easy choice for me. First, BCG offered me an unparalleled learning opportunity, both intellectually and socially. Through the recruiting interviews, the principals and partners were very eager to tell me about this learning opportunity, and I have really enjoyed being part of it. Second, people at BCG are without any doubt among the most inspiring and talented people I have met so far in my life.
Q: If you could compare what you do with any other job, what would you say?
A: At BCG, I was given the opportunity to take on immense responsibility from the very beginning. I have to manage my own module, plan my daily and weekly output, and plan how to team up with the client to create valuable output. I have been exposed to big corporate executives and presented my ideas to them. This is a fascinating experience that I could not have had anywhere else.
