Managing Director and Partner, Casablanca
At BCG, Explorers are unafraid to embark on new journeys. They try new solutions to untangle complex problems and drive transformational change. Lisa has the courage to take action.
BCG’s global network of excellence and entrepreneurial spirit converge in the Casablanca office. Adding to this, the "new frontier" dimension of the African continent makes Casablanca an exceptional place to be!
After I graduated from HEC, I joined BCG, not knowing exactly what to expect. Very soon, continuous learning, exciting assignments that made it possible for me to discover new industries and issues, and strong relationships within teams and with our clients helped me decide to stay.
I spent four years in the Paris office, choosing primarily international assignments, including one year in Rome, then Egypt on a large-scale project. I then had the opportunity to join the Casablanca office. I became a project leader and developed a more entrepreneurial spirit that led me to my appointment as a partner in 2015.
Today, we are leaders in strategy consulting in Morocco. We cover most industries—consumer goods, mining, banking, telecommunications, airlines, and public service—and various issues, mostly relative to growth. It is extremely exciting, and we learn a lot. Our teams are multinational and fully face the globalized world.
Proximity management in the office favors personalized careers even more, and the mobility of consultants is made easier by BCG's global network. Our ambition is to strengthen our leadership position, extend our influence to West Africa and North Africa, and deploy the African strategy of leading international groups.
Lisa has a degree from HEC Paris. She joined the Paris office of BCG as an associate at the end of her higher education studies. After she was appointed a consultant and a project leader, she decided to join the Casablanca office to participate in its development. Today, Lisa is a partner in the Casablanca office.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Since the beginning of my career at BCG, I have chosen international assignments. Over time, my choices have always led me further south, to the sub-Saharan region. Today, I feel true passion for the African continent, this "new frontier." We work on the growth strategies of our Moroccan clients and leading international groups, as well as on important social impact projects.
Q: What international experiences at BCG have been the most interesting for you?
We assist leading international groups with their African strategy and focus on field experience. For one of our clients that had no business whatsoever in Africa, we recently organized full immersion into five countries—Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Kenya, and South Africa—through five weeks (one in each country) at the heart of the local ecosystem, with all key economic players.
This magic and enriching experience enabled us to gain new insights on the challenges and opportunities that this continent faces, which were essential to make the project operational.
Q: What inspires you about BCG?
A: BCG, by encouraging us to think outside the box and present our clients with innovative and offbeat solutions that will make a difference, always pushes us outside our comfort zone. It is a tremendous intellectual satisfaction. It also is the cement of solid and inspiring professional relationships, based on collaboration and team work.
