Miray Is a Collaborative Pioneer

Consultant, Istanbul

At BCG, Pioneers have the courage to take action on unique insights. They share and activate ideas that enable our clients to gain the competitive edge. Miray empowers and inspires others.

For me, the best part of working at BCG is challenging myself more with each project in order to achieve greater impact—and growing more with each challenge.

Miray

In Miray’s Words

My background is in telecommunications engineering, and I was working with telcos until I came to BCG. I wanted to be a part of the BCG team to learn how to make an impact in different industries using strategic perspective and BCG's way of thinking.

The key takeaway from my experience in BCG projects has been the necessity of seeing the big picture and understanding how the whole organization works instead of focusing on your own department, which was the case in my previous work experience. I think that really broadened my perspective. In addition to that, I think BCG's culture is unique, both in terms of working with the client and within the team, where everyone feels that they work toward the same goal in a great environment.

About Miray

Miray holds a telecommunications engineering degree from Istanbul Technical University and an MSc in engineering and technology management from Bogazici University

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: The part I like most about my job is the chance to truly develop my skills in every situation. We are dealing with new challenges every day, structuring them and proposing solutions. This enables growth in different areas, and I think that is a unique opportunity that cannot be found in other jobs.

Q: When did you know you belonged at BCG?

A: When I first read about BCG’s growth share matrix, I was both surprised and amazed at how one of the most complicated business problems was structured and summarized in such a brief but effective logic. After seeing this, I thought how much more could be delivered by thinking this way.

Q: What is something that has surprised you about working at BCG?

A: After coming to BCG, I was really surprised by two things. The first one was the friendly and supportive environment, which I think is not common. The second one was the desire of everyone to deliver the best that is possible and working together toward achieving that. I also enjoy pushing ourselves hard to achieve the best results for our client. Once I saw these, I was sure I was at the right place.
