Your possibilities at BCG are endless if you actively seek them out!
With a background in business, BCG was on my radar from the very beginning of my studies. What truly won me over were the people I met: outgoing, energetic, down-to-earth individuals with huge drive and diverse profiles.
Since joining BCG, I have been impressed by the breadth of international opportunities and the willingness of senior management to make these available to staff. In 2015 alone, I spent three months on a project in sunny Melbourne, two weeks in Shanghai and Beijing on a recruiting trip, and just now I completed the first four months of my 12-month transfer to the Chicago office.
Morten holds a BS in international business from Copenhagen Business School and an MS in applied economics and finance. Morten attended the Wharton School of Business and the University of St. Gallen as an exchange student.
Q: What did you learn in your first year on the job?
A: That the best solution is often the simplest solution but also the most difficult to identify.
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of the office?
I usually try to keep myself active, since being a consultant does not involve a lot of physical activity. This usually involves running, swimming, going to the gym, or playing my favorite sport basketball. On the weekends, however, I usually don’t work out and instead spend most of my time catching up with friends while enjoying an ice cold beer.
Q: What are some of your favorite places in the world and why?
A: I love to travel. These are my favorite places: Brazil and Argentina, which I visited on a backpacking trip eight years ago with three friends; Southern Spain, where I celebrate Christmas every year with my family; and Australia, which is a truly spectacular country—and Aussies are hilarious!
