At BCG, Seekers go deep into the challenging issues our clients face. Their curiosity empowers our teams to facilitate change and add value to society. Nicolas has the courage to take action.
The best part of working at BCG is spending my days with colleagues I look up to and being surrounded by great people who help me enjoy my daily work and with whom I´ve built relationships that transcend the work sphere.
After successful experiences in leading firms both in the insurance and consumer packaged goods industries, I decided strategic consulting was the right move for me as I was looking for additional and constant challenges—and was aiming to satisfy my curiosity by being exposed to more industries.
After a year at BCG, I’ve already had the chance to work on high-profile projects in industries I never imagined I would work for. I have also done project work in the industry in which I spent most of my pre-BCG career. What has truly amazed me about this is realizing that in just a few months I learned more about that industry, and had more impact with my work—than at any time before.
BCG has truly fulfilled my intellectual expectations, as I feel constantly challenged and I´m convinced that I learn something valuable and grow every day. However the highlight of my BCG experience has definitely been having the opportunity to work and spend my days with amazing people with whom I truly identify at a personal level and who help create the best environment so we can all enjoy our work and have fun while doing it.
Nicolás has a master’s degree in entrepreneurship and business strategy from SDA Bocconi in Milan. Prior to BCG, he worked as a marketing manager for Nestlé. Right out of college, he worked for AIG.
Q: When did you know you belonged at BCG?
A: After a full year, I knew I belonged at BCG when I realized that I still feel the same excitement I felt on day one. There was no question to me that I belonged at BCG when I realized that no matter the type and amount of work on my plate I was having fun and learning at work. And more than anything, I knew this was the right place for me after quickly developing such strong friendships with my coworkers—friendships that have lasted until today.
Q: What is something that has surprised you about working at BCG?
A: Six months into my first project, I felt like I learned more about the industry I previously worked for than during the three years I spent in that industry.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: There are three things I really like about this job. First, working with a group of talented people whom I admire, respect, and like spending time with. I also love the motivation of knowing that every day I could learn something new. And finally, I really like knowing that the work I’m doing has a significant impact for our clients.
