Partner & Managing Director, Prague
At BCG, Seekers go deep into the challenging issues our clients face. Their curiosity empowers our teams to facilitate change and add value to society. Tomáš seeks a new perspective.
BCG allows me to follow my passion—to solve interesting problems and help clients shape their future—while working together with the smart people around me.
I have always been a very curious person. Solving puzzles and problems is exciting. From my first project at BCG 11 years ago to my current assignment, finding new answers to the most important questions of the largest corporations in Central and Eastern Europe has been an integral part of my work. Originally, I was doing it for the excitement of the intellectual challenge, but now I increasingly enjoy the impact we can make on society around us through our clients and the work we do for them.
The best part of it: I can do it with a team of very smart people. Together we make more impact than I could have imagined before I joined. And it is fun!
Tomáš is a Principal in the Technology, Media & Telecommunication practice. He is also recruiting director for the Prague office. He holds an MBA degree from INSEAD and a master’s degree in informatics from the University of Economics in Prague. Prior to joining BCG in 2006, he worked in management consulting at Deloitte and was a professional volleyball player.
Q: Why did you choose to work at BCG?
A: The first choice that I made was to work in consulting. I think it is the best job you can have, getting paid for solving interesting problems with a team of smart people around you. Among the consulting firms, I chose BCG because it has the reputation for uncovering the best, most tailor-made and analytical solutions for the clients. And I have never been disappointed.
Q: What trends are you following, and why?
A: I work primarily for technology, media, and telecommunication clients, and this interest goes beyond my professional involvement. I enjoy reading and thinking about modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, cybernetics and robotics, and more.
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of the office?
A: The most important thing for me is my family. No matter what we are doing, I always try to spend the most time outside my work with my wife and my son.
