Vianney Is a Curious Visionary

Associate, Paris

At BCG, Visionaries navigate complexity with ease. They use their insight and intuition to identify the solutions that will create lasting impact. Vianney goes deep to understand challenges.

At BCG, I have found new professional opportunities that are linked to the discovery of extremely varied horizons, continuous learning, and strong impact on projects that are crucial for our clients.

In Vianney’s Words

Before joining BCG, I started my career within a large airline where for four years I dealt with strategy-related issues. I am therefore what called an industry hire, with my first professional experience coming from outside the consulting world. BCG provided strong onboarding support to me and other industry hires so that we can fully leverage our skills and expertise. No effort is spared to support us as we learn the work of the consultant.

Since I arrived at BCG, I have been involved in industries such as banking and telecommunications and addressed a wide variety of sometimes complex issues. On top of these unique opportunities to broaden my professional horizon, I have also developed highly efficient work and analysis methods.

BCG's team spirit and high expectations make it possible to find very innovative solutions. Last but not least, because I have two young daughters, I highly value BCG's efforts to guarantee the proper work-life balance.

Q: What is a typical day like for you?

A: Working at BCG is never dull or boring. No two days are ever the same! There are times for analyses and reflection; meetings with clients, generally on their premises; and internal team meetings to share perspectives and get organized.

Q: How do you maintain a sustainable career balance at BCG?

A: BCG is deeply involved in the work-life balance issue and encourages transparency. Managers regularly address the matter of personal constraints with their teams. You must then seize the opportunity to take the floor. Further, the work organization is highly flexible at BCG, providing you with much autonomy and the ability to preserve personal time. Yet, of course, the client comes first. You should therefore always be available when necessary.

Q: How has your network grown as part of working at BCG?

A: My professional network has become much larger at BCG. During our projects, we continuously interact with people holding key positions in their organizations, on various hierarchical levels and with various functions. And, of course, there is the community of BCGers all over the world. This network is extremely strong, including the alumni network. It is unique and highly enriching!
