Senior Marketing Coordinator, Brussels
At BCG, Advocates are thoughtful and engaged. They listen closely because they believe that the best solutions can be discovered in the most unexpected places. Virginie is unafraid to try new things.
BCG is like a big family that helps me grow. Every day, I realize how lucky I am to work with the people I work with; they are dynamic, clever, and supportive, and they make me discover new perspectives.
In 2004, I finished my studies in corporate communication in Mechelen, Belgium, and I had the opportunity to work for multiple national and international companies. All my previous jobs were nice, but when I joined BCG, I found everything I was looking for: an international company, dynamic and fun teams, content-driven work, professionalism, and so many other things that I could mention.
Beyond that, BCG is always open for renewal and innovation, and in my daily job as marketing coordinator, I can really be creative thanks to the support of management.
BCG is like a big family; you create really strong relationships with colleagues who are always there to help, no matter how much time it will take. I have developed real friendships with some of my colleagues, and this happened within just months of starting here. BCG is an amazing place to work: great content, great people, and a great company!
Virginie is a marketing coordinator at BCG Brussels. Before joining BCG, she worked as a communications officer at Allianz Global Assistance and as a country product manager at EF Education. Q: What is a typical day like for you?
A: Each day is different, and that’s what I like about my job. The days go by very fast, as I’m doing so many different things and exploring so many different marketing topics. And above that, I’m still learning every day!
Q: How has BCG helped you grow and succeed?
A: BCG has helped me grow and succeed in my daily job due to the fact that I am always working with consulting teams, including partners and principals. They have a totally different mindset than mine, and that's what makes the perfect mix—we are continuously learning from each other.
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of the office?
A: Outside the office, I like playing sports, traveling, meeting friends, and going to the movies.
Q: How would you describe the BCG community?
A: For me, the BCG community is like a big, young, and dynamic family. Even during the weekend or holidays, you are still in touch with that BCG community—not because you have to be, but because you want to be. I have quickly developed real friendships with some of my colleagues.
Q: What advice would you give to someone who wants to work at BCG?
A: My best advice would be that they have to be passionate about their job, they have to believe in what they do, and they have to be willing to grow.
