Case Team Assistant, Bogotá
At BCG, Seekers go deep into the challenging issues our clients face. Their curiosity empowers our teams to facilitate change and add value to society. Ximena is unafraid to try new things.
Right from the beginning, BCG offered me the opportunity to be involved in challenging projects related to my day-to-day job and also to my other specific interests and willingness to grow.
As a recent grad my path wasn’t defined, so I decided to apply as a case team assistant because of BCG’s reputation as a leader in transforming organizations and industries. I wanted to work and learn from great and insightful people.
In my first months, I had the chance to work very close to the business as a case team assistant but also to take on new marketing responsibilities that I wanted to have. BCG offered me the opportunity to learn from extraordinary people in extraordinary circumstances.
Maria Ximena holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from Rosario University and a master’s degree in business strategy. Prior to BCG, she worked as an intern in the business intelligence area.
Q: What is a typical day like for you?
A: I wake up early in the morning to run and catch some fresh air. Then I share time with my family, such as over a nice breakfast, and then I go to work. During my working hours, I'm asked to help in different areas related to team projects that I support, including marketing topics or even office activities. Every day is different and none of them is typical.
Q: Why did you choose to work at BCG?
A: BCG is well-known worldwide for its innovation, for changing industries’ rules. I wanted to be part of that kind of change. I had the opportunity to join the BCG Bogotá office, and I'm thrilled with the learning opportunities offered by BCG.
Q: Why is BCG a good place for a woman to work?
A: BCG empowers women to have gender equality. I have had the chance to participate in some talks aimed at helping women discover their full potential.
