The fantastic journey at BCG starts with throwing off the bowlines, sailing away from the ordinary and safe harbor. Explore and Dream!
My background is in manufacturing and supply chain management of engineering products, but I have had opportunities to dive deeply in other industries, such as consumer goods, industrial goods, and health care. I am excited to help clients with my expertise and discover a new world with my fellow BCGers.
BCG has a strong worldwide network. This means each BCGer can get support and incentives in his or her daily work, which boosts the learning curve intensely.
Yanjie holds an engineering degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: As a core member of the Greater China Operations Center, I can help clients or case teams with my expertise on ops topics. I like the way we work, in a fully collaborative and innovative manner. My specific knowledge in ops gives me opportunities to support BCGers worldwide.
Q: How has BCG helped you grow and succeed?
A: BCG is quite diverse, not only in the background of the people here but also culturally. This diversity brings new perspectives to cases and knowledge requests. People are willing to discuss new ideas and approaches. Each discussion brings new insights.
Q: Why did you choose to work at BCG?
A: After working in a high-tech engineering company for five years, I wanted to make something new of myself. Making the decision to leap outside my comfort zone was not easy. But when I met consultants and experts during the interview process at BCG, I knew I wanted to work with these people. They’re smart, funny, and charming, and we can have deep conversation on operations topics across different industries. BCG brings new perspectives and helps me generate insights.
