No. We welcome applicants from all intellectual disciplines and with diverse extracurricular and work experience.
There are generally two-three rounds of interviews. These usually consist of face-to-face or video conference interviews of around 45 minutes each. You can expect each interview to open with a brief introductory chat and discussion of your CV. You will then need to solve a case which will take about 20–25 minutes. The interview will conclude with an opportunity for you to ask questions. Please be aware the interview process varies from office to office. It is possible that you will be required to take an online case, quantitative or psychometric test.
You can apply to up to three BCG offices. When choosing your offices please bear in mind the language requirements of each office.
BCG has over 90 offices worldwide. When you submit your application, it is sent directly to screening teams in the offices where you would like to work. These teams then review your application. Your first office selection has first access to your application. If that office is not interested in pursuing your application, you will then cascade to the next office you selected and so on. You will be interviewed by only one office.
Please think very carefully about which office(s) you most want to work for and nominate them in order of preference from 1 to 3. You should have relevant work or life experience that will enable you to relate to the local culture and client base.
All communication and logistical arrangements for final round interviews are arranged by local offices, so they will be in direct touch with you.
To the very best of our ability, yes. However, please be aware that there are some restrictions in specific offices which make obtaining visas more difficult. For example, at present it is not possible to get a visa for a Summer Internship in our U.S. offices. So unless you are a U.S. national, or hold a valid work permit please do not apply to US offices. Please be in touch with the recruiters in the office you are interested in for visa queries.
We encourage you to visit the interview preparation section on the BCG Website and take advantage of any opportunity on campus to familiarize yourself with the case interview process. If your mental math skills are rusty, it may be worthwhile to download a maths app to practice.
We seek passionate, open-minded individuals with a wide range of academic backgrounds, work experiences, perspectives, thinking styles, and expertise. Excellent academic credentials are a necessary—but not sufficient—requirement. You also must demonstrate the curiosity to ask the right questions, the courage and creativity to blaze new paths, the ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients, and the leadership skills to transform your ideas into action.
