Francois-Xavier Delenclos Joins a Global Practice to Boost Its Infrastructure Capabilities
LONDON—The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) announced today that Francois-Xavier Delenclos has joined the firm’s Principal Investors & Private Equity (PIPE) practice as a director. This appointment will accelerate the growth of BCG’s rapidly expanding PIPE practice in Europe.
Delenclos, who is based in London, brings more than 15 years of experience in corporate strategy, investment appraisal, and M&A gathered as a principal and as an advisor. He was previously group vice president, corporate strategy and business development for APM Terminals, a Maersk Group subsidiary that focuses on port and inland infrastructure. In this role, he drove a strategy of global growth, making multiple infrastructure investments through M&A transactions and public-private partnerships.
Before joining Maersk in 2008, Delenclos worked with McKinsey & Company in China and Europe, focusing on growth strategy and transaction work for infrastructure players. He also led commercial due diligence projects (on the buy side and the sell side) for principal and private equity investors in a wide variety of industrial sectors.
As a senior member of BCG’s PIPE practice, Delenclos will advise global investors on strategy and operations, including investment strategy, operating models, governance, due diligence, and post-close transformation.
BCG’s clients include some of the world’s largest private-equity investors, hedge funds, pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and real estate and infrastructure funds.
Delenclos said, “I was drawn by BCG’s strong brand, international reach, and reputation for strategic value creation in the private equity sector and beyond.”
The global leader of the PIPE practice, Tawfik Hammoud, said, “Francois-Xavier brings a wealth of experience across geographies and industries. It is a privilege for me to welcome him to our fast-developing European PIPE team.”
Philippe Morel, leader of the PIPE practice for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, added, “With Francois-Xavier’s recruitment, we are further expanding our infrastructure activity for the added benefit of our principal investors and private equity clients. I’m particularly pleased to have him join our team.”
