New Partner Justin Balcombe, Former KPMG Partner and Head of Its UK General Insurance Management Consulting Practice, Is the Latest Addition to BCG’s Growing Insurance Practice
LONDON—The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is pleased to announce that Justin Balcombe has joined the firm’s London office as a partner and managing director in BCG’s Insurance practice. Balcombe comes to the firm from KPMG, where he was a partner and the head of its UK General Insurance Management Consulting practice.
Balcombe is a seasoned industry expert with nearly 30 years of experience in senior leadership roles across the global insurance industry and London markets. Prior to joining KPMG, he was EY’s insurance leader for the Middle East and North Africa region.
Balcombe is currently listed by RISE, an independent agency, as one of the top 100 UK tech influencers, and he contributes regularly to a number of innovation and technology forums. In 2012, he was recognized for his achievements across the Middle East by inclusion on the MENA Insurance Review’s Power 50 list.
As a senior member of BCG’s Insurance practice, Balcombe will advise global insurance companies on strategy, performance improvement, business transformation, and operating-model change. BCG’s clients include some of the world’s largest insurance companies in the life, property and casualty, commercial and reinsurance, and health sectors.
Remarking on his new position, Balcombe said, “I'm incredibly proud to be joining BCG at a time when the insurance industry is undergoing unprecedented change. Digital disruption, new types of risk, customer relationships, a difficult investment landscape—these are all challenging the industry in how it modernizes and continues to meet global demands. Joining one of the world’s leading strategy consulting firms and helping these companies work through this wholesale change is an outstanding opportunity, and I’m excited about it.”
