Harvard Business Review
In a co-authored article for Harvard Business Review, BCG’s Judith Wallenstein and Alice de Chalendar detail the results of a 2018 survey conducted by Harvard Business School’s Project on Managing the Future of Work and BCG’s Henderson Institute. The survey gathered responses from 11,000 workers across 11 countries, as well as 6,500 business leaders spanning 8 countries. The authors discuss 17 forces of disruption, grouped into six basic categories, and the attitudes of business leaders and workers toward each of them. The article identifies three notable differences in the ways that the two groups think about the future of work. Finally, the authors identify five important ways managers can start to address the gap in perspectives.
