Amit Rai leads BCG X Ventures (XV) in the UK, Netherlands, and Belgium. X Ventures is the dedicated business-building arm of Boston Consulting Group. As the industry's leading business builder, it has launched nearly 200 trailblazing businesses with a success rate unmatched industrywide. Amit leads XV's Industrial Goods practice in Western Europe.

Amit first joined BCG XV in 2017 during which time he led teams of product managers, engineers, designers, strategists, and growth experts as they imagined, built, and launched market-disrupting businesses. He left BCG XV to take up the role of Founder & CEO of XV-built venture MachineMax, a revolutionary equipment management platform for off-highway heavy equipment. MachineMax won numerous industry awards and rapidly scaled to tracking $300 million of assets in 30 countries. It was acquired by Shell in 2021 and Amit returned to XV.

Amit began his career as a Program Manager at Microsoft’s HQ in Seattle before joining McKinsey & Co. He went on to manage Nokia’s global marketing operations across 100+ countries and with a $1 billion budget, before spending two years at HERE (Nokia Maps). In addition, Amit advises and invests in early-stage startups in the US, Europe, and India. He is also a non-executive director of Atelier Technology.
