Jean Le Corre Andre Pinto Ricardo Simas Georges Almeida Luis Daniel Viana Damien Delaunay Daniel Gorodicht

Decentralized Solar Generation is already a reality in Brazil, and should show a high growth in the next years - due to the high solar irradiation economic incentives (explicit or not) for users to adopt this solution. We describe possible scenarios for future adoption, and suggest possible patterns of response by utilities. The rapid adoption of new distributed sources and the evolution of technologies must strongly influence the sector. However, there are low-risk moves that energy companies can undertake to prepare for this potential disruption.
