BCG Omnia - Solution Business Director, Paris
At BCG, Pioneers have the courage to take action on unique insights. They share and activate ideas that enable our clients to gain the competitive edge. Bobby challenges the status quo.
I learned at BCG that nothing is impossible. More than a big company with brilliant people, we are a family who are all moving in the same direction: one for all and all for one!
What surprised me after so much time at BCG is that I am never doing the same things twice. Every day is a unique journey where I am going to meet incredible people and face unbelievable situations. Our task as a world-leading company is to think ahead to invent tomorrow’s world. You are right to be excited to join us!
Bobby is a serial entrepreneur. He created his first startup at age 14 and sold his last one to BCG after being an active civic tech leader.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I joined BCG just after a four-year experience as founder of a startup. I was dreaming of getting an appointment with clients that I am now able to meet with, thanks to BCG! BCG opened every door for me, giving me access to some of the biggest companies in the world as well as opportunities to engage with people I have admired for a long while. At BCG, nothing is impossible. Work hard, and you will achieve your dreams.
Q: How has BCG helped you grow and succeed?
A: First, I am surrounded by people with superior intelligence—very helpful for being successful! BCG has also given me enough freedom to explore new ideas and the means to achieve my goals. The best way to answer this question honestly is to say that I am working as a startup entrepreneur but with the means and the knowledge of a huge company behind me.
Q: What advice would you give to someone who wants to work at BCG?
A: For BCG, the sky's the limit! So, be prepared to challenge yourself continually. Here, we play as a team, and you have to be in on the sharing of your skills and knowledge. We are part of something big. BCG has a culture of excellence, and you need to assimilate quickly to serve and bring value to our clients.
Q: What are you reading right now, and why is it interesting?
A: An author that I particularly appreciate says that reading gives us better judgment. I am an avid reader of everything related to Napoleon. As an entrepreneur, I aspire to understand how great leaders make their decisions. And I believe that Napoleon was one of the greatest leaders the world has seen. The military world is a great example to follow for someone who must act under pressure and make quick decisions. I would recommend the excellent book by Jean-Marie Rouart titled Napoléon ou La destinée (Napoleon or Destiny).
Q: If you could go back in time and tell your 18-year-old self one thing, what would it be?
A: I would tell myself to be patient, and to remember this sentence: “Because I am in a hurry, I am taking my time.” In life, there is a time for everything, for those who give themselves the means. One of the most brilliant French CEOs once told me, “There are two types of people: those who want to become someone, and those who want to do something. Be the second type.”
