At BCG, Visionaries navigate complexity with ease. They use their insight and intuition to identify the solutions that will create lasting impact. Anni connects the dots to see the bigger picture.
Working at BCG offers one the possibility to work with brilliant people across different countries and cultures. BCG can offer unique opportunities; usually the only limitation is oneself.
I have a background in a Finnish consumer goods company, working was in the transformation program on a new strategy to become a global brand house. For the past one and a half years, I worked in Copenhagen in a postmerger integration project, as part of the brand organization. As exciting as it was, I still wanted to find a more challenging environment, develop personally, learn new things, and feel that the work I do has a real impact.
I knew BCG would be able to offer all this, and I have been very satisfied with my first year at BCG Helsinki. It was new for me to take more of a consultant’s perspective, become more output-oriented, and always challenge the client's view, but I feel this has been a great learning experience. Adding value and thinking out of the box are gradually becoming part of my nature. My satisfaction comes from results, learning, and developing, as well as from being able to work with brilliant people to achieve even higher targets.
Anni holds an MS in technology, strategy, and international business from the Helsinki School of Technology, and a BS in economics and finance from the Helsinki Swedish School of Economics.
Q: What characteristics do you believe define a BCGer?
A: I think BCGers are very bright, ambitious, and solution-oriented. We want to work hard to achieve our goals, and we can make a difference with our input and insight. BCGers have a naturally global perspective, and we are also very dynamic and curious—greatly interested in what goes on around the world and ready to find answers.
Q: How has BCG helped you grow and succeed?
A: You can have as challenging a job as you want, learn as much as you can, and work within a team to achieve common goals. I have enjoyed taking new leaps in developing my skills and competences, both as a consultant and as a person.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Since I have not found out yet what I really want to do, a new project is always a chance to find something exciting and also stretch my limits. The work is very versatile, and you always learn something new.
