Pricing in Today’s Competitive Environment

The move to digital has intensified price competition in every industry. BCG’s Jean-Manuel Izaret explains how companies should respond to this more dynamic pricing environment.

Jean-Manuel Izaret leads The Boston Consulting Group’s global pricing topic and is a member of the leadership team for the Marketing, Sales & Pricing practice. He is also a member of the firm’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Financial Institutions, and Industrial Goods practices.

Since joining BCG in 1997, Jean-Manuel has helped clients develop sustainable competitive advantage through innovative pricing strategies, more rigorous pricing execution, and more efficient processes and organizations. He believes pricing is one of the most powerful and underused profitability levers for companies.

Jean-Manuel has worked on pricing issues across industries, including consumer goods, retail, high tech, financial services, and industrial goods. His experience includes developing pricing model strategies, transforming pricing practices, improving product line-up pricing, and designing strategies to optimize bundling for numerous technology, media, and telecom companies.

Before joining BCG, Jean-Manuel worked for Royal Dutch Shell in marketing and sales and as a quality engineer in the company’s chemical plants.
