Glyn Ayres

2012 Recipient

Since receiving the 2012 BCG Scholarship, Glyn has completed a JD at Melbourne Law School and a BCL at Oxford University. He worked for two years as a lawyer at Allens and is currently an associate at the Federal Court of Australia.

Winning the scholarship enabled Glyn to progress his academic career by studying private law and legal theory at Oxford University in a joint degree program with the JD at Melbourne Law School.

Before law school, he completed undergraduate studies in arts and music. He then worked at the Victorian Court of Appeal and in Tanzania as an intern at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.

While studying his JD, he completed legal internships with Freehills, Allens and Mallesons. He also led a University of Melbourne team to first place in the WTO international moot court competition.

Glyn has published on the topic of international economic law and is interested in legal issues about public health. While he would like to work as a barrister, he believes the most important thing is to do interesting and satisfying work wherever you happen to be.
