Advancing Racial Equity
Read about BCG’s commitment to advancing racial equity.
At BCG, diversity is one of our core, founding values. Passionate, open-minded people of all backgrounds, genders, gender identities, sexual orientations, ethnicities, expertise, and experience are fundamental to our success, as they enable us to analyze problems from a broader perspective and challenge established ways of thinking.
We seek and hire top talent from around the globe, encourage mobility across our offices and among our functional groups, and provide opportunities for our people to come together to exchange perspectives. The result is an environment in which all individuals have an opportunity to flourish and succeed.
BCG has received numerous awards and recognition for our efforts to create a more inclusive, diverse organization.
BCG has seven affinity networks for staff members to come together in the pursuit of growth, mentorship, and affiliation. Two of those networks (Pride@BCG and Women@BCG) are global and the other five (AccessAbility@BCG, AsianDiversity@BCG, Black+Latinx@BCG, Families@BCG, Veterans@BCG) are specific to North America. In addition, we have a growing number of ally initiatives to further support our networks.
AccessAbility@BCG gives our North America staff the opportunity to connect on such topics as physical disability, neurodiversity, chronic illness, and mental health. The network was developed by a passionate group of individuals to foster community among people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, as well as caregivers. AccessAbility@BCG provides resources and advocacy for people with disabilities while also promoting education and awareness throughout the entire firm.
AsianDiversity@BCG provides North America employees a supportive and inclusive work environment at BCG—where everyone has the opportunity to succeed professionally and flourish personally.
Black+Latinx@BCG is comprised of North America employees from a wide range of backgrounds, including those from the Black, African American, Black Canadian, Afro-Caribbean, Hispanic, Latin American, and Latinx communities. BCG offers a variety of mentoring, affiliation, and development programs designed to expand and enrich the experiences of individuals in our North American offices. Our diversity initiatives have earned numerous awards and widespread recognition, including placement in top-company lists from magazines Diversity MBA and Black Enterprise. We support and sponsor national organizations, such as MBA Jumpstart, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.
Our global Pride@BCG network strives to create a fulfilling environment for members of BCG’s LGBTQ+ community worldwide. We ensure all LGBTQ+ employees have opportunities to succeed and become leaders for positive change at the personal and professional level. Our efforts are concentrated on leading the charge for workplace equality for LGBTQ+ employees, strengthening our recruiting practices, and refining our affiliation and people development initiatives. BCG has earned a perfect “100%” rating for 13 years running from the Human Rights Campaign on its “Corporate Equality Index.”

Families@BCG brings together parents and other caregivers in North America with the goal of providing opportunities to connect. Network members come together to share experiences, tips and tricks, and resources. Members also engage in panels and programming that focus on how to effectively support their families while creating successful and sustainable careers at BCG.
Veterans@BCG is a group made up of North American-based BCGers with a military and/or an intelligence background. BCG deeply values the talent, training, and proven leadership skills that veterans bring to the organization. BCG supports its veterans with a growing network of people who understand their experience and will help them grow into business-minded leaders. The network also raises awareness of consulting as a career path for veterans, supports veterans through their transition into a civilian career, and helps veterans understand the value of their experience and how to leverage their unique skills to succeed at BCG.
We recruit top graduates by coordinating career and interview workshops, presentations, lunches, and other events. Through our undergraduate diversity programs, we offer underrepresented minorities exposure to our work and culture and provide opportunities for mentorship, learning, and development.
Created for current freshmen and sophomores from groups underrepresented in leadership positions and in consulting, the Bridge to Consulting Workshop and the Externship Program offer the opportunity to experience BCG.
This program aims to identify, support, develop, and retain top Black/African American and Hispanics/Latinx individuals who are currently sophomores, preparing them to become leaders in consulting and the global business community.
The Africa Talent program offers exceptional candidates with strong ties to (or interests in) Africa an opportunity to spend one to two years at one of our US- or Europe-based offices before joining one of our offices based in Africa.
Our goal is to increase diversity, unlocking the potential of every BCGer and client team member. To do so, we invest in people and in the research that reveals which tools, programs, and cultural changes are necessary to deliver sustainable impact.
