Head of Finance, Brussels
At BCG, Challengers go against expected thinking and inspire their teams to be truly innovative. Linde empowers and inspires others.
My mentors at BCG have supported me by being extremely open to hearing what I want to learn, develop, and achieve. And they have helped me translate that into a role that matches BCG's needs.
As head of finance, I have the privilege of working on a very diverse set of topics with many different people and teams. In doing so, I am able to contribute to the development of our people, which is a key element for me.
What I believe really makes BCG unique are the numerous opportunities for growth. The people who have been my mentors during my career have supported me by being extremely open to hearing what I want to learn, develop, and achieve. And they have helped me translate that into a role that matches BCG's needs.
When I meet people in my team who also have that drive to learn and develop, I find it fantastic to have discussions similar to those I had a few years ago—and to see them grow!
Linde is currently head of finance for the Brussels office. She was previously the recruiting manager at BCG Brussels for four years, and she started her career as a BCG consultant. Linde holds a master’s degree in commercial engineering from Ghent University and an MBA from Vlerick Business School.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: At BCG, no single day is the same. We are always challenging the status quo and seeking new perspectives. That very much matches my personality.
Q: What did you learn in your first year on the job?
A: I thought I was learning a lot at university, but after having worked at BCG for one year, I realized I had never learned that much in a single year before! The diversity of the job, the daily challenges, and the role models I met really helped me learn a lot
Q: What characteristics do you believe define a BCGer?
A: We are a very diverse set of people—so no BCGer is the same—and that’s exactly the beauty of our teams. What we do share is our openness, curiosity, and the drive to make BCG and the world better places.
Q: What are some of your favorite places in the world and why?
A: I have always loved traveling, and most of all I like big cities full of energy like London, New York, Singapore, and San Francisco.
Q: What's your home office environment like?
A: Brussels is a fun office to work in. It’s small enough to know everyone, but it’s big enough to have a truly diverse and international group of colleagues.
Q: Why is BCG a good place for a woman to work?
A: BCG is very committed to helping women succeed. During my first years at BCG, I didn’t want to be treated differently from any male colleague, and BCG respected that. Becoming a mother now, BCG is again open to hearing what is important to me—and I value that flexibility very much.
