Alexandra Is a Collaborative Visionary

Since I joined BCG, I have constantly been challenged to go further; and for me, that's what makes life interesting.

In Alexandra’s Words

I have an engineering background, and I worked at a world-leading oil and gas company before BCG. After some time in that field, I decided that I wanted to gain business experience but remain challenged analytically.

From day one, BCG has exposed me to a range of different functions and topics, such as economics, law, agriculture, and social impact, and I have had opportunities to develop strategy, management, and communication skills while fulfilling my wishes of working in the oil and gas industry again.

When I had my first contact with BCG, I instantly knew it was the place for me. I was always the kid who each day had a different idea of what I wanted to be when I grew up. BCG gave me the opportunity to experience different scenarios and find out that my fit is actually to work in a diverse and dynamic environment, surrounded by brilliant people who inspire me every day. On top of that, I also get the thrill of seeing the true impact of my work and helping to create value for others. Does it get better than that?

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: The diversity of what I do and that I get to work with brilliant people.

Q: Why did you choose to work at BCG?

A: Being an engineer, I wanted to gain business experience and still be challenged analytically.
After a couple of interviews with consultancy firms, I realize that I wanted BCG because I instantly felt connected with the people and culture.

Q: What’s the biggest impact you have had with your work?

A: It was definitely my first case, where we were able to decrease the cost of starting a company in Angola from $5,000 to $100. That truly impacted the lives of millions of people who previously couldn't afford to start a business.
