Thorsten Kahlert

Partner & Managing Director


Thorsten Kahlert leads The Boston Consulting Group’s work in organization and talent in rapidly developing economies (RDEs) and leads BCG’s Global Advantage practice in Germany and Austria. In addition, he is a core member of the Industrial Goods practice at BCG, and focuses primarily on the automotive sector and mid-sized, family-owned businesses.

From 2011 to 2013, Thorsten was the recruiting director for BCG in Germany and Austria and was responsible for hiring more than 200 consultants and more than 100 interns. Thorsten joined the firm in 2004, and in 2006 he served as a BCG Ambassador, working in the Paris office.

Thorsten’s client work has included organic- and inorganic-growth strategy projects as well as operational-improvement projects and corporate-transformation programs for mature and emerging players. .

Before joining BCG, Thorsten worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Strategic Management Research Center at the University of Minnesota, where he focused on the field of organization.
