I was initially brought to BCG by my deisre to explore and solve some of the toughest problems – the ones that keep some of the smartest people in the world awake at night. BCG has given me that opportunity and much more, with everything ranging from solving operational complexity to launching a digital startup to the CEO’s agenda. Each project has brought a different learning opportunity to the table.
What makes BCG unique for me is that I can be myself, I can be different – and not only is that OK, but it is hugely valued. There is no mold, no typecast, no limitations. Every time I work with clients, I’m not just giving them the ‘BCG’ answer. I’m giving them my answer, with my unique flavor and a bit of the BCG secret sauce.
Dipesh holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University, and has studied at the HEC School of Management in Paris. He also received an Option in Economics, and has experience working in public policy.
Everyone will say there is no typical day. Most days are a combination of meetings, slide work, analysis, research, and collaborative workshops, but sometimes there is travel, team dinners, and office commitments as well. For example – I recently spent a full day at a conference organized by BCG with the top policy and infrastructure leaders in Canada, including the Prime Minister himself!
I knew I belonged at BCG after trying out the internship program. It is a great opportunity to get your feet wet, and a very representative experience of what a career at BCG can be like. For those who are at all interested, do apply!
I believe there is no defined mold for a BCGer – which is a key part of what makes BCG so special. However, there are a few common traits: intellectual curiosity, willingness to roll up your sleeves, and being approachable and down-to-earth.
Collegial, familiar, and friendly. I look forward to spending time in the home office, catching up with friends, taking advantage of the collaborative spaces, and best of all, enjoying the snacks.
Innovation to me means doing something differently. At BCG, we do this every day – with our clients, within our teams, and often even for ourselves. This is a part of the BCG DNA that I will take wherever my next career step will lead me.
