BCG formally started operations in India in 1995, opening its offices after nearly a decade of work in the country. Today, we are located at Nariman Point in Mumbai, DLF Cybercity in Gurgaon, and Hyatt Regency in Chennai. BCG's Mumbai office has enjoyed great success since it opened more than 15 years ago. Our office is located in the heart of the city's commercial district and offers a panoramic view of the bay.
Reflecting its commitment to the Indian market, BCG's Mumbai office has established an impressive client list that includes leading domestic and international companies drawn from a wide range of industries, including financial services, consumer goods, industrial goods, health care, energy and utilities, and technology and communications. We also work closely with the government and nonprofit organizations on a range of issues ranging from policy formulation to supporting implementation for change.
Our office also offers functional expertise in corporate development, business strategy, marketing and sales, and operational and organizational change. Over time, the office has also developed insights into the many factors that determine success in the Indian business environment. At the same time, the team draws on BCG's worldwide staff, its depth of consulting capabilities, and its expertise.
Consultants who work in the Mumbai office learn about the entrepreneurial experience and added responsibility that comes with helping to build a business. This high-growth environment stimulates individual creativity and initiative. We have consistently drawn staff from prestigious institutes such as the Indian Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Management, INSEAD, Wharton, and Harvard. BCG in India projects encompass the spectrum of challenges facing today's CEO. This gives our team an opportunity to build skills and gain knowledge and experience on critical strategic issues in India and beyond.
Consulting is the most interesting, enriching, and challenging profession. It allows me to work on a diverse set of issues and has added several skills to my repertoire.
