Dean Tong came to The Boston Consulting Group in 1996 and was sponsored to pursue his MBA in 1999. He spent a year as a BCG ambassador in the firm's Germany-Austria system in 2004. He is a member of the firm's Financial Institutions practice and global Change Management Cadre. He also leads BCG's People & Organization practice in Southeast Asia and the integration portfolio for the region.
Dean’s consulting experience with BCG covers talent and leadership across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. He has experience working across multiple industries including financial services, industrial goods, consumer goods, and telecommunications. Dean is known for bringing lateral thinking and out-of-the-box solutions to project teams. He was instrumental in the creation of the award-winning low-cost bank in Malaysia—and a number of multifinance businesses in Indonesia.
Before joining BCG, Dean worked as an associate at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in Sydney, Australia, where one of his projects was a $360 million wrapped bond issue for the largest utility company in New Zealand.
