It has been an eventful year in Capital Markets in Asia, as investors and market participants sought to manage volatility while benefiting from a strong, but uneven set of growth opportunities across the region. In this report, BCG addresses the overall development trajectory of capital markets in Asia, with a particular focus on the largest emerging capital market, China, where the deepening of the capital markets is the most important long-term driver of regional CMIB industry development. Asian markets are reaching a turning point in terms of their maturity. A new competitive landscape is emerging as local players start to assert themselves, on both the sell-side and the buy-side, and the industry adapts to the new regulatory and technological environment.
