Marcus Bokkerink has 30 years of experience at Boston Consulting Group enabling corporations to build and sustain competitive advantage.

Marcus led the Consumer practice in the UK and Europe and served on the firm’s global Consumer practice executive committee. He also previously led BCG’s Strategy practice in the UK and Europe, serving on the global Strategy practice executive committee. A trusted advisor to some of the firm’s largest and most sophisticated clients, Marcus has led BCG’s global corporate client relationships at several of the world’s leading consumer, retail, and hospitality enterprises. Marcus also chairs BCG’s UK Board practice and Chairs’ Forums and serves on the Consumer Goods Forum Global Summit taskforce.

Throughout his career, his primary focus has been advising global corporates on portfolio transformation and M&A to capitalize on disruption; driving growth and returns through competitive advantage; digital strategies harnessing advanced analytics and AI to strengthen advantage and performance; and raising consumer insight, demand generation, and net revenue management capabilities. Marcus believes passionately that value creation requires true competitive advantage and that a business builds its capability to sustain and renew competitive advantage by empowering its people in a process of joint discovery. He has long been a thought leader on where to play and how to win and is a coauthor of BCG's Consumer Value Creators series and Future of FMCG series.

Marcus previously established and developed BCG’s China business out of Shanghai and managed several asset development activities in both China and the UK, including recruiting, career development, training, and mentoring the next generation of BCG leaders. He continues to teach consultants, concentrating on strategy, competitive advantage, and BCG’s DNA.
