At BCG Platinion, you get the best of both worlds. You are working in a startup environment with very talented and seasoned IT professionals, working toward building a brand. At the same time, you are part of BCG, and have the opportunity to challenge yourself with world-class cases at some of the best-known companies in the world. This combination always makes my day interesting!

Line Eriksen

In Line’s Words

Before joining BCG Platinion, I had spent about ten years working within technology consulting. My key expertise is delivery of large-scale ERP solutions, along with how to run projects and deploy the solutions globally.

In project delivery, you mainly get involved after the board-level decisions have been made and a direction has been chosen for the company. Part of what appealed to me about BCG Platinion was the possibility of working with executives before they have decided in which direction to go. In this way, you are helping them make key decisions for their company and having a real impact. This makes the work really challenging and exciting at the same time.

About Line

Line holds a master of science in industrial engineering and technology management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and a master of business administration in international business from the Fisher Graduate School of Business.

Why did you choose to work at BCG Platinion?

During the interviews, everyone I met spoke passionately about the work they were doing and the impact they were making on their cases. It made a real impression on me. Ultimately, that passion they displayed, together with the opportunity to work on the most interesting and challenging cases, made me decide this was the place to be!

How does BCG Platinion fit into BCG as a whole?

On most of our cases, we work together with BCG in one team. We are often called in when the case has an IT component that needs to be resolved and requires more in-depth expertise. This could be anything from software implementation gone wrong, an assessment of an IT landscape, or vendor selections. We also help in digital transformations with our designers, engineers, and agile coaches. Here, it is all about bringing the impact to life.

What characteristics do you believe define a BCGer?

Ambitious, smart, with an entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to help others. And they all have grit!

What is something that has surprised you about working at BCG?

You get a lot more face time with managing directors than I was used to. A case team always has a managing director, and that person takes part in the team meetings just as everyone else, and helps the team in the right direction. It’s been great getting to work so closely with them and to learn from their experience!

What skills or talents do you hope to develop in the next few years?

I used to be very nervous giving presentations. Although the situation has gotten better over the years, this is something I would like to keep challenging myself on. Giving a presentation in front of a large audience, or pitching to potential clients, is definitely something I want to conquer.
