MIT Sloan Management Review
In an article for MIT Sloan Management Review, BCG’s Martin Reeves, Hen Lotan, Julien Legrand, and Michael G. Jacobides share the results of a study conducted by the BCG Henderson Institute. Their research analyzed the dynamic nature of business ecosystems over the past four decades and found that less than 15% of the ecosystems studied were sustainable. They discovered the four paths that business ecosystems typically follow during their life cycles and pinpointed three critical windows during which managers taking action could significantly affect long-term success.
