BCG is like a big family. The best part of it is when you have a question, you can always ask.

In Isaree’s Words

I graduated from Thammasat University in Thailand as a finance major. Like others, I spent my first BCG years in various industries before deciding on the area I feel most passionate about: consumer goods and telecommunications.

What is truly amazing about BCG is the exposure you are guaranteed to get at such an early stage in your career. As a fresh graduate from local university, the exposure to various industries and wide ranges of topics really shaped my perspective. I have worked with regional clients including a consumer conglomerate in Thailand and an oil rig producer in Singapore, a canned tuna producer in the US, cross-office clients on conservation strategy in Switzerland, and supply chain optimization in London. These challenging yet exciting experiences give me new opportunities to learn every day.

What international experiences at BCG have been the most interesting for you?

My most interesting international experience at BCG was when I worked with Save the Children International in Africa as part of the BCG Social Impact Immersion Program, a program that allows you to work with leading NGOs around the world for one year. What I loved the most about this project was that we got to implement the strategy in Myanmar, Uganda, Kenya, and Mozambique. Seeing kids who just escaped war next door at the refugee camp in Uganda made me realize the impact we are creating and how we could help millions of lives. Despite my active participation in my local community improvement projects throughout my life, I know I would not have been able to achieve this kind of impact without BCG.

What’s your home office environment like?

Our Bangkok office has about 40 consultants and 20 members of the business services team. We are in one of Bangkok's nicest buildings, looking over the city’s main park. We have Tuesday and Thursday afternoon snack gatherings every week. Regardless of how busy your day is, you can always come to the pantry during that time to chit-chat and enjoy chicken satay, cakes, or fruit. Every month we get together on home office day and do activities together. These activities can range from karaoke to mangrove tree planting or a trip to the beach.

What characteristics do you believe define a BCGer?

I would characterize BCGers as smart, nice, and approachable people. They are friends that you like to hang out with and enjoy spending time with. At the same time, they are very smart. They always have an answer to any question (or at least have a perspective). If you put two to three BCGers in a room and give them a topic, they can spend a day discussing that topic and come up with interesting ideas. You can just grab a cup of coffee and enjoy a good debate with any of them.
