BCG Platinion Will Support North African Digitalization by Expanding Its Capabilities in the Region

Launching as Part of the DigitalBCG Hub, BCG Platinion Will Build on Its Success in the Region and Will Now Be Able to Tap into the Company’s Expertise and Impressive Pool of Tech Talent

CASABLANCA—Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the global management consultancy with over 55 years of experience, has announced plans to extend its presence in the North African market by adding advanced architecture capabilities, large-scale data and AI solutions, tech-stack modernization, and digital design services to its portfolio through the expansion of BCG Platinion in the region.

The speed of digitization in Africa surpasses that of any other region. Morocco, and specifically Casablanca, has exhibited significant potential to become a technology center and a dynamic economic force, attracting growing overseas investments. BCG Platinion plans to play a major role in driving further growth by expanding its service offering as part of the BCG Digital Hub in Casablanca. This expansion will foster existing talents in the tech industry and act as a catalyst for transition across the region through the adoption of new technologies. In this way, BCG Platinion will be well positioned to add value across a number of key verticals, helping African corporates, public sector institutions, and NGOs accelerate their digital journey.

The addition of BCG Platinion will allow the BCG Digital Hub in Casablanca build on years of success as a world-class end-to-end digital delivery provider for the region. Led by three managing directors and partners – Hamid Maher, Amane Dannouni, and Adham Abouzied – the expanded capabilities will offer a new level of expertise within BCG to give support on a wide range of technology transformation projects, from strategy to implementation and execution. The Digital Hub will allow BCG to build on its current offerings to provide clients with advanced and innovative tech platforms that incorporate AI functionalities.

BCG Platinion aims to build on the region’s existing capabilities, offering opportunities and hope to Morocco’s talent, with a goal of employing 50 residents in the initial two years and doubling that number by 2026. This is in addition to BCG GAMMA, which currently employs 20 residents in the region. That number is predicted to grow to 35 by 2023. This further illustrates BCG’s commitment to Morocco’s larger economic growth.

“North Africa is a critical element of BCG’s global, digital expansion plan; and ensuring that we have feet on the ground in the region is the first step in our commitment to bringing the latest technologies and solutions to the market,” said Amane Dannouni, managing director & partner at BCG.

“As a tech hub, Casablanca is becoming an increasingly mature – and attractive – platform for the entire African market. With an exceptional world-class talent pool, we’re excited to work in the region and offer individuals the opportunity to drive the digital agenda in an environment that aims for nothing less than excellence”, said Norbert Faure, managing director at BCG Platinion.

Hamid Maher, managing director & partner, and head of DigitalBCG for Africa also commented on the announcement, saying, “BCG Platinion has already played a crucial part in many digital transformation journeys – working closely with its customers as a trusted and innovative partner. We’re excited to bring our success to Africa, using cutting-edge technology to deliver the impact that will elevate African businesses and make them a force to be reckoned with over the coming years.”
