Joachim Stephan is part of the leadership team for Boston Consulting Group's business in Central Europe (Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Switzerland) and is responsible for Switzerland in this function. He also heads the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice in EMESA (Europe, the Middle East, South America, Africa), and is a member of BCG's global TMT leadership team.

Joachim has advised some of the world's leading telecommunications companies, cable MSOs, media groups, pay TV operators, TV broadcasters, magazine and newspaper publishers, and private equity investors. He leads BCG's activities with numerous large international clients in the telecom and media industries. His expertise is in growth strategies, M&A, post-merger integration, large-scale transformation, digital transformation and diversification, and market entry optimization.

Joachim has worked with telecom companies in more than 15 countries. He has particularly extensive expertise for Germany, South Africa, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.

Before joining BCG, Joachim was a Junior Partner at Oliver Wyman (formerly Mercer Management Consulting). Before that he worked for Robert Bosch in Kuala Lumpur and for DaimlerChrysler and Bertelsmann in Germany.
