At BCG, I learned that the path of least resistance is not always the best and that sometimes one has to take the risk to fail in order to succeed.
BCG's international footprint and ambitious growth were some of the key factors motivating my application to BCG more than four years ago. I was not disappointed: I am looking back at business meetings on three different continents in more than 15 countries. I always considered intercultural curiosity to be at the center of my character. Leaving my comfort zone, integrating myself in new cultural settings, and engaging with inspiring new people have been important aspects of this journey.
BCG's challenging and fast-paced work environment, treating some of today's most exciting problems and demands across industries, is as gratifying as it is motivating. Despite my banking background, I immediately connected with the challenges in the health care industry—which has become my “home” at BCG. The energizing challenge of tackling strategic questions from versatile angles of the pharmaceutical and payer industry has fascinated me from day one.

Q: What's the biggest impact you have had with your work?
A: Working closely with our clients, I have seen many very positive personal and professional transformations. Our counterparts are often unaware of the full potential of their strengths. We are able to bring in a new perspective and enable our clients to structure their thinking and identify opportunities and roadblocks proactively. It is one of the most satisfying feelings when clients take proud ownership of the jointly defined project result.
Q: What are you most curious about?
A: I am curious about what kind of project I will be doing next. What will my team look like? What challenges will our client be facing? And how will we effectively identify a solution to address the root causes of the problem?
Q: What inspires you about BCG?
A: BCG gave me the opportunity to grow beyond my imagination. Having first-hand experience in different industries and companies, I was able to shape my own path. I am excited about expanding my knowledge within the health care industry. Working for BCG allowed me to look at the market environment from many different angles, only realizing how much more there is to learn.
