BCG gives me the opportunity to combine my academic with my practical background. Besides the organizational part of event management, I am also responsible for the strategic approach of BCG events as well as the content of BCG's client events—the "big picture."
Additionally, I very much enjoy working together with BCG partners. They treat you with respect and they see you as a sparring partner and as an intellectually equal person.
Stefan holds a degree in business administration from University of Applied Sciences in Munich, as well as a hotel business apprenticeship.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: There are so many inspiring people at BCG with different backgrounds and diverse competences: diversity at its best. In my opinion, this is the ideal basis for being creative and innovative, which is essential for my job: designing and improving the event portfolio that BCG offers its clients.
Q: What is a typical day like for you?
A: The event management tasks I have to achieve every day vary a lot—from texting an invitation to finding the ideal speaker or choosing the best location. I also often have to react fast on current events politically as well as economically. Plus, the hierarchy within BCG is quite flat, and decisions are made quickly. This makes my days at BCG different every day, as well as unpredictable.
Q: How has BCG helped you grow and succeed?
A: BCG challenges you all the time and gets out the best of you. Good is never good enough, when you want to succeed within the best premium consultancy. In addition, there is also a great and constantly changing range of trainings for hard and social skills, which support your professional development.
