Adrian Mitchell is a core member of Boston Consulting Group’s Digital BCG and Consumer practice areas. Adrian helps clients accelerate sales and profit growth through end-to-end customer experience redesign, digital transformations, and large-scale operating model and operational transformations using big data and advanced analytics such as AI@Scale.
Since joining BCG in 2017, Adrian has worked with companies in sectors including automotive retail, big-box drugstore and mass retail, restaurants, insurance, specialty retail, and technology. He focuses on supporting CEOs and senior management teams of large and successful organizations, helping them to make sustained, step-function improvements in their performance trajectory from strategy to implementation. His recent engagements have covered defining a new strategic direction with senior leaders, especially when companies are faced with disruptive market or competitive changes; supporting organic and inorganic growth efforts through consumer and industry insights, reimagining customer experiences, digital innovations, process optimization, operating model redesign, M&A, and post-merger integration; and accelerating sales and profitability improvement through productivity and margin initiatives, all sustained through organizational design, change management, and leadership counseling.
Prior to joining BCG, Adrian spent over ten years in senior operating executive and board director roles, including as board director for REI; CEO and board director for Arhaus Furniture; Interim CEO, COO, and CFO for Crate and Barrel Holdings. He also held several roles in Target's stores and .com organization. Adrian started his career, and spent ten years, at McKinsey & Company where he co-founded the Lean Operations Retail practice.
