At BCG, Visionaries navigate complexity with ease. They use their insight and intuition to identify the solutions that will create lasting impact. Sophia goes deep to understand challenges.
The best part of working at BCG is that you are constantly learning. Your growth and development opportunities are endless.
I took a gap year during my studies and interned in the marketing division of a fashion brand, then I joined a big multinational bank as part of their business development team. I loved both experiences equally and I wished there was a way I could continue being exposed to various industries. Joining BCG allowed me to fulfill this goal. Every case is a unique and brand new experience and an opportunity to learn about a new business model.
Beyond the diversity of the projects at BCG, I am impressed by the quality of the training I receive. We get constant support through global training programs, local training sessions, and an online learning platform with modules covering a large range of topics. This has allowed me to progress through my casework while rapidly developing my skills and my capacities.
Sophia holds a master’s degree in management from ESCP Europe in Paris with a specialization in economics.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I like most about my job are the endless opportunities to meet new people, to immerse myself in different work environments, and to gain insight into multiple industries. I also enjoy the fact that with every new case we must investigate the problem posed and think beyond common frameworks to come up with a unique solution. There is never a boring moment!
Q: What’s your home office environment like?
A: The diversity in my home office is unparalleled. It is a melting pot of incredibly talented people from all around the world. The class I joined with had 20 associates and consultants of more than ten different nationalities. It is extremely enriching to be able to get to know colleagues from such different backgrounds and cultures, and it is very interesting when working on a case to be able to confront many different perspectives.
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of the office?
A: I am very lucky to be based in the Dubai office because we enjoy great weather around 80% of the time. Whenever I am not in the office, I love to go to the beach and enjoy a good read. I also like to explore the region I live in, so I often organize outings to the desert or short road trips to neighboring cities. It is impressive how different the scenery can be just a few hundred miles away from where I live.
