Laura Furmanski joined Boston Consulting Group in November 2017 and leads the Health Care practice for BCG on the West Coast. She is active in recruiting for the firm. Laura develops new tools and analytics to unlock value in health care. She works primarily with biopharma and med tech clients on R&D, market access, and broader strategic topics. She co-leads BCG's next-generation data and analytics efforts for health care on the West Coast, with a focus on delivering value in both product development and market access in biopharma.
Laura previously created and led the bioinformatics business area for QIAGEN, a life science company. In that capacity, Laura launched QIAGEN's genomic clinical decision support platform, and managed the product, engineering, and commercial teams that delivered a portfolio of informatics products to biopharma, academic research, and clinical labs with a focus on oncology and rare genetic diseases.
A big gap in our overall testing capability remains unfilled—the ability to tell people quickly and reliably if they have been infected.
