Partner & Managing Director
Pierre-Yves Jolivet joined the Paris office of The Boston Consulting Group in 2003. He leads the firm’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice in France and North Africa and leads BCG’s work in pricing in B2B and B2C industries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Pierre-Yves’ work with TMT clients includes, for example, conducting global strategic reviews, reviewing product line-ups, formulating growth and commercial strategies, and supporting pricing and contract management. He serves telecom operators, technology equipment providers, and software and security companies.
Pierre-Yves has particularly deep experience in pricing issues, including, for instance, measuring the elasticity of price increases for a railway operator, pricing spare parts for a high-tech company, pricing 4G offers in a rapidly developed economy, and setting pricing segmentation strategy for a pay-TV operator.
Prior to joining BCG, Pierre-Yves worked in the Treasury Department of the French Ministry of Finance, where he was in charge of regulating specialized financing for high-tech and media industries. Here, he also led the “economics and new technologies" unit of the ministry’s information technologies department, dealing with fixed and wireless broadband markets.
Previously, he worked as a marketing analyst in the marketing product division for the wireless local loop and broadcast products for Alcatel Telspace.
