In his guest column for Forbes, BCG’s Grant Freeland writes about getting businesses to up their diversity games by adding more women to the digital workforce. He cites a BCG report that found that “women constitute 36% of university graduates in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines but only [make up] 25% of the STEM workforce and just 9% of STEM executive leadership” The talent is there, so how can companies tap into this pool? One way is by creating targeted marketing and ad campaigns with the message that they are actively seeking women candidates. Freeland explains that “adding more women to the digital workforce will do more than just fill a growing need for talent.” Companies become more innovative, resilient, and ambitious.
