Joaquín Valle del Olmo founded the Lima office of Boston Consulting Group. Joaquín leads the Financial Institutions practice in Spanish-speaking South America and is a core member of the Insurance practice at BCG. He has developed considerable experience in the retail, corporate, and wealth management segments. He has also been involved extensively in addressing issues of strategy, corporate development, transformation, change management, and operations with family-owned, private, and public companies. He complements his financial services experience with work in these topics for key industrial goods conglomerates and with mining and energy companies. Since beginning his career at BCG Madrid in 1997, Joaquín has served a wide variety of clients across Europe, the US, and Latin America.

Before joining BCG, Joaquín worked for Siemens in Germany. During his career, he has also worked for Goldman Sachs as an associate in the UK, as head of the retail segments for Citibank and Barclays in Spain, and as head of cash management for Barclays Corporate.
