Bridge to BCG Consulting Workshop

Bridge to BCG is a three day summer workshop designed to help you test-drive the BCG case team experience.

What will participation at Bridge to BCG entail?

  • An overview on the consulting profession and what makes BCG special
  • The opportunity to solve a BCG case in a realistic case team simulation
  • Networking with our junior and senior consulting staff, including ADC alumni
  • Creating memories and having fun at social activities with other advanced-degree candidates and BCGers
  • Interview prep resources
  • An invitation to a first round interview in June 2020

Our 2020 Bridge schedule and host cities are:

  • June 3-5: Chicago and Houston
  • June 9-11: New York
  • June 10-12: Boston

If invited to Bridge to BCG, you can expect to attend the workshop closest to your school, but due to capacity constraints and conflicts it is possible that you'll be placed in another program. You will be asked to mark all sessions you can attend in the Bridge application.

Eligibility

Bridge to BCG is open to PhD, JD, MD (including MD/MBA), and postdoc students currently residing in the US or Canada and looking to start full-time with BCG in 2021. If you intended to graduate in 2020, please refer to the following options:

  1. If you want to start with BCG during or after June 2020, you should still apply to Bridge to BCG
  2. If you want to start before July 2020, please apply ASAP via our full-time application

If you are currently a practicing physician or in residency, the 2021 start date requirement does not apply. Please note, that practicing physicians with more than 5 years of experience are not eligible for Bridge. These candidates as well as JDs and PhDs who’ve already graduated from their program should refer to our experienced professional hiring process.

Masters students (without a JD, PhD, or MD) and MBA students are not eligible to attend. We would be happy to receive your full-time or internship job application in the fall as part of our campus process.

Application Process

Our 2020 Bridge to BCG application has three components – an online application that must be submitted by Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST as well as two online activities that must be completed by the corresponding due dates outlined below. Candidates can expect to hear about the status of their application by early May.

Apply to Bridge to BCG

The application asks for the following components:

  • Online application form
  • Office preferences for a 2021 full-time position
  • 1-page business style resume which includes undergraduate GPA, graduate GPA (if applicable), and relevant graduate test scores (GRE, LSAT, and MCAT)
  • Optional cover letter

As part of your application, you will have to compete two additional online activities. These activities will help us get a more comprehensive view of you and your fit with BCG.

  • Pymetrics (20-25 minutes): A set of 12 neuroscience-based games that provide insight into your personal social, cognitive, and emotional traits. For more information, please click here. You will have 48 hours after you submit your application to complete this and will be prompted via email to do so.
  • One-way video interview (~10 minutes): Three questions to which you will provide brief, recorded responses, to help us get to know you beyond your written application. For more information, please click here. The video interview must be completed by Monday, April 6th at 5:00 PM ET.
  • Failure to complete these online activities within the allocated timeframe will result in an incomplete application.

FAQs about the Bridge to BCG Program

IF I AM ACCEPTED TO ATTEND BRIDGE TO BCG CLOSEST TO WHERE I LIVE/STUDY/WORK, DO I HAVE TO WORK IN THAT OFFICE FOR A FULL-TIME JOB?

No. You can plan to attend the Bridge to BCG program closest to your campus or home, but you are not required to apply to the host office for full-time work. Candidates who attend Bridge are interested in many different BCG offices. When submitting your Bridge application you will be asked to select your office preferences for full-time work.

IF I AM NOT ACCEPTED TO BRIDGE TO BCG, CAN I APPLY FOR A FULL-TIME JOB?

Absolutely! Since this is a nationwide program with limited spots, we have to take several factors into consideration when determining our invite list. If you are not invited to Bridge, we still encourage you to reapply in July 2020 for a full-time position. Your Bridge application will not hinder your chances of getting an invite to interview for full-time work.

IS THERE AN INTERVIEW FOR THE BRIDGE TO BCG WORKSHOP?

Yes, but it is not a case interview! As part of the Bridge to BCG application you are asked to complete a one-way video interview. At BCG, we're interested in getting to know you beyond your resume and hope to understand why you're interested in a consulting career.

WHAT SHOULD I HIGHLIGHT ON MY RESUME WHEN APPLYING FOR BRIDGE TO BCG?

BCG looks for ADC candidates who have illustrated a history of achievement and leadership inside and outside the classroom, are stellar communicators, and are passionate about problem solving. Candidates should not only highlight their academic qualifications but also the ways in which they've begun to look beyond academia for experience.

ARE TRAVEL AND OTHER EXPENSES COVERED IF I'M ACCEPTED TO BRIDGE TO BCG?

Yes. All travel and accommodations are covered for out-of-town guests. In addition, all meal and reasonable expenses associated with the program are covered for all attendees.

I WILL BE OUT OF THE COUNTRY DURING BRIDGE, CAN I STILL ATTEND?

Bridge to BCG is only open to candidates currently residing and traveling within the US or Canada, although we welcome your full-time application.
