At BCG, we attract medical candidates from various stages of their medical training- from those who join us right out of medical school to physicians who have been practicing for years. As a medical candidate, you bring not only relevant skills, but a unique perspective that allows you to approach problems in a way that provides tremendous value to our clients. From day one, we support you and provide the training you need to succeed as a consultant.

MD Candidate Eligibility

To qualify as an MD candidate, you must be in one of the following stages of your education or career:
  • MD or MD/MBA students
  • Masters students who hold an MD
  • Medical residents/fellows
  • Practicing MDs and Physicians

Bridge to BCG Workshop
Bridge to BCG is an interactive workshop designed to help you test-drive the BCG project team experience. The application deadline for Bridge to BCG 2024 has passed.
Full-time Consultants
Generalist consultants work on varied projects across topics and industries analyzing problems, discovering insights, delivering recommendations, and making change happen for our clients. We hire across all advanced degree backgrounds and concentrations (PhD, MD, JD, postdoc, resident, practicing physician).

Class of 2024: Our 2024 full-time application deadline has passed.

Class of 2025: Apply for our Bridge to BCG workshop by March 20, 2024. Those selected to participate will have the opportunity to interview for a full-time role. If you're not selected for the workshop, we encourage you to apply to our full-time deadline this summer. The summer application deadline will be announced in June.

MD Scholar Program
The MD Scholar program is open to current third year or rising fourth year medical students, currently residing in the United States. Please note, if you are not interested or accepted in the MD scholar program, we encourage you to apply to our Bridge to BCG Program.  We accept BCG MD Scholar applications on a rolling basis, year-round. Most MD Scholars will begin in February or March (following major clinical year and board exams), so we recommend that you apply by the end of the year. There is some flexibility in timing and exceptions on start-dates and can be discussed on a one-off basis.

Candidates who complete the MD Scholar program successfully for at least one year will be granted one year of medical school tuition. Candidates who complete two years of the MD scholar program will receive one year of medical school tuition and six months tenure credit. Both of these tuition grants are contingent on the candidate returning to BCG after two years of completing the program.

Class of 2025: Our 2024 MD Scholar program deadline has passed. If you are interested in a 2025 full-time role, please consider applying for our Bridge to BCG workshop by March 20, 2024. Those selected will have the opportunity to interview for a 2025 full-time Consultant position.

BCG London Medical Elective

The medical elective is offered for exceptional medical students to gain a unique insight into healthcare management in our BCG London office. As future leaders of healthcare, you will have the opportunity to develop your business skills, and be exposed to a range of topics within medicine.

Opportunities will range from gaining a further understanding of the structures and mechanics of the NHS, to leveraging the potential of healthcare technologies to redefine the provision of healthcare, and addressing the latest challenges in the pharmaceutical industry. BCG partners with leaders in industry to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities to shape a brighter, more sustainable future.

The medical elective is a 7 week long program taking place in our London office during the spring, where you will be staffed on one of our Healthcare cases and get to experience life as a BCG consultant.
