BCG engaged in a long-term collaboration with University of Chicago Charter School to develop a detailed five-year strategic plan. The plan established high aspirations to make the charter school a top-tier school, aligned curricula and instruction across campuses, and engaged families to get them more involved in their children’s education.
To guide decision making and help attract and retain quality teachers, the team also created a public scorecard and a dashboard tied to the strategic framework.
For five years in a row, 100% of graduating seniors from University of Chicago Charter School have been accepted to college. When ranked by college-enrollment rate, the charter school ranks second among all high schools in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. Both the campus scorecards and dashboards are used extensively by University of Chicago Charter School. The campus scorecard results are publicly available and demonstrate a clear pattern of consistent growth.
