Create Place-Based Collective Impact

Partnerships between families, schools, businesses, governments, community leaders, and educational institutions can drive long-term local change.

Communities often struggle to achieve long-term impact because actors are operating in silos and leadership roles can be transient.

If key stakeholders in education create strong, lasting partnerships within their communities to exchange ideas and pool resources, then we can build and preserve local knowledge and create sustainable change.

Emerging Model: Commit!Dallas

Commit!Dallas is a backbone organization with the primary directive to facilitate a coalition of more than 200 stakeholders working together to benefit students throughout Dallas County. Commit partners include nonprofits, faith-based organizations, parent-teacher groups, and local businesses that pool their resources to identify best practices, measure implementation success, and scale successful strategies across the county in support of key education milestones—from early-childhood education to higher ed.
