Erik Rakhou is a member of the Boston Consulting Group's global team in low-carbon hydrogen. He supports clients on their energy transition journey with a focus on hydrogen and decarbonizing gas markets.

With more than 20 years of experience in both commercial and policy roles, Erik is well situated to help leading industry firms, utilities, grid operators, and governments navigate change by crafting strategies, entering new markets, negotiating with governments, raising capital, and selling and buying assets. Erik has worked on projects in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Albania, Moldova, Ukraine, South Africa, and Japan.

Erik has written, spoken, lectured, and moderated panels on decarbonization of gas markets, including nascent hydrogen market development. Prior to joining BCG, Erik worked in consulting, energy sector, and policy roles. He was appointed as an alternate member of the ACER, EU energy regulator, Board of Appeal for September 2016 to September 2021.
